Ripfast® Solo - Press Release- August 2009 P R E S S R E L E A S E
R I P F A S T ® S O L O - A New Approach to Hook and Loop
These days pretty much every company involved in manufacturing knows about Velcro, the ubiquitous hook and loop fastener - used in all sorts of industries: from shoes and apparel to boat tarpaulins; medical equipment to electrical cable management; and too many others to mention.
The standard two part tape is a great way to fasten - one side hook, one side loop - sticking firmly together in a tough yet flexible bond, which can be opened in an instant , with a characteristic 'ripping' sound.
Since ACE Supplies own brand hook and loop product, RIPFAST®, was launched in the UK three years ago, it has steadily gained a loyal group of customers across a wide range of manufacturing sectors. ACE has specialized purely in the distribution of fastening products since 1981, and is a fully accredited BS EN ISO 9000 business - so customers know they will get a reliable source of supply, at the right price, with knowledgeable product support, and information about complementary fasteners, whenever it's needed. Like all ACE products, RIPFAST® is packed to order. There is no excess packaging and no tedious minimum box quantity restrictions.
As the RIPFAST® range has been so successful, ACE are now expanding the group of products on offer, and have recently introduced RIPFAST® SOLO. This is proving popular with customers in all sorts of industries - and has been very successful in application trials.
The great thing about RIPFAST® SOLO is that it is even easier for manufacturers to use. It is a one piece product hook/loop. There is only one product to source - and one product to cut and fix. It differs from other one piece hook/loop products on the market in that both the hooks and loops are subtly incorporated into the same fastening surface - i.e. it is not double-sided. So, it works in exactly the same way as traditional two piece tapes - the user may not even notice the difference! But manufacturers have the advantages of being able to buy one product instead of two and so reduce their inventory. Having just one product to think about can also eliminate the possibility of cutting mistakes on the production line.
One ideal use for RIPFAST® SOLO is in the production of Cinch Straps for Bundling - whether it be cables, stationery, horticultural tree ties, RIPFAST® SOLO will do the job. ACE Supplies are now stocking ready-made RIPFAST® SOLO STRAPS for the smaller volume user
. And can also offer bespoke strap solutions for special applications.
For further information or samples of the RIPFAST® range of products go to the ACE website at www.acesupplies.co.uk or phone Sales on 01952 216878.

| Ripfast® Press Release - October 2008 WHAT'S IN A NAME? FIX IT WITH RIPFAST®HOOK/LOOP
ACE Supplies are pleased to announce that RIPFAST® - the ACE own
brand Hook and Loop - has passed its latest round of testing with
flying colours and conforms to the requirements of BS EN ISO
22776:2004.
In addition to BS7271:1990 and MOD Defence standard 83-86.
Like all ACE fastening products, RIPFAST® is quality controlled and
tested regularly to ensure its suitability for a multitude of
applications - industrial, exhibition fixings, transportation,
harness and strap work, and security to name just a few. It is also
very competitively priced and can normally be supplied ex stock.
RIPFAST® Hook and Loop is not yet the market leader for hook and
loop: we readily admit that position belongs to the Velcro® company
- who didn't invent the product - but adopted this trademark for
their hook and loop fasteners in 1959. And so successful have they
been that the name is now listed as a verb,(Reference WordNet Search
3.0 c 2006 Princeton University), and as both a noun and adjective
in the latest version of the Compact Oxford English Dictionary of
Current English.
Trademarks are jealousy guarded in the business sector - but
ultimately they will not stand in the way of language development -
or product improvement. Most of us have to hoover a carpet
occasionally - but we might equally well use a Vax or a Dyson to do
the job.
So next time you need to have something `velcroed´ be sure to
consider RIPFAST®
a fastening product with sound foundations
and a pedigree to match. More product information can be found on
the ACE website at www.acesupplies.co.uk or phone 01952 216878

| Safety Whistle Press Release - April 2008
PRESS RELEASE
P R E S S R E L E A S E
DONT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!
The weather is warming up and it is time to get Outdoors. Time to put away the winter woollies and check out your kit to make sure you have everything in place to grab that great weekend away whenever the weather sets fair and sunshine beckons.
Whatever your choice climbing, hill-walking, rambling, biking, riding, sailing, or even off-roading in a 4x4 you will want to be safe. And, for many of us, being safe means being able to communicate with emergency services when need arises.
Mobile phones are great of course: but most of us have experienced the sickening moment when the battery fails as you try to make a call; or sometimes in remote places there simply isnt any signal. Or perhaps you just need help very quickly, from someone close by.
One answer to this is really simple and inexpensive: make sure you pack a good old-fashioned product in your kit and Whistle for Help when all else fails.
The improved lightweight Nexus Safety Whistle produces an ear-splitting 106 decibels on test which well exceeds the ISO/CEN standard. Made of Polypropylene with no moving parts, the Safety Whistle cannot go rusty and also floats - essential for marine applications.
The product is marketed in the UK by ACE Supplies UK Ltd who are currently featuring two versions for sale online at www.acesupplies.co.uk. The whistle can be purchased either with a neck-strap or as a kit to which you can make up to attach to your luggage or equipment: either way, a small but very worthwhile investment in Outdoor Safety.
